Ghana’s Foreign Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has inspected ongoing construction works on the ultramodern VIP Lounge project at the Accra International Airport, expressing satisfaction with the progress and quality of work.
The Foreign Minister was impressed by the pace of construction and the standard of execution during his inspection of the project. The Accra International Airport VIP Lounge is expected to be completed and officially handed over before the end of 2026.
VIP Lounge Project Funded Without Taxpayer Money
The project is being delivered without direct funding from Ghanaian taxpayers, according to the information provided.
The entire VIP Lounge project has been structured as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, with local Ghanaian businesses contributing funds directly to local contractors of their choice working on the facility.
Under the arrangement, the Foreign Ministry’s Estate Bureau is responsible for supervising the project to ensure that construction standards, quality requirements and specifications are properly maintained.

The initiative highlights how private-sector partnerships and corporate social responsibility in Ghana can support major infrastructure projects without relying on public funds or conventional public procurement processes.
