The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has scheduled a comprehensive network of maintenance exercises across six operational regions for Wednesday, March 11, 2026, with technicians preparing to perform infrastructure upgrades that will temporarily disrupt power supply to scores of communities from the Western enclave to the Eastern corridor.
According to a series of cautions issued by the power distributor over the last few days, the coordinated operation is intended to improve service dependability and strengthen the national grid’s stability.
All impacted regions will experience outages starting at 9:00 am, while the length of the disruptions may differ by area and location based on the particular nature of the engineering work that needs to be done.
Engineers in the Eastern Region will work from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, concentrating on Kwabeng Township and the adjacent areas. It has been suggested that locals prepare for the six-hour disturbance by making the appropriate plans.
A full-day exercise in the Accra East Region is scheduled to take place from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. It will affect a number of communities, including Asiedu Nketia, Gravel Pit, Lakeside Estate Community 15, New Legon, the UPSA Hostel, Trinity, and Mempeasem, as well as the surrounding surroundings. It is anticipated that the residential estates and academic communities in this corridor would be impacted as technicians perform necessary upgrades.
In a similar vein, there will be an eight-hour outage in the Accra West Region from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Mandela, SCC, Sunny Coast, Korkordjor, Kinshasha, Doblo, Hebron, Medie, Sapeiman, Satellite, Opah, Nsakina, Ga-Odumase, Peace Village, Ghana Water, Cannary, and Adoagyiri Zongo, as well as the adjacent suburbs, are all included in the affected regions.
Lashibi, Community 19 Annex, Klagon, Old Ningo, New Ningo, and other communities are all affected by the six-hour maintenance window in the Tema Region, which runs from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. It has been recommended that residents in these rapidly expanding residential and peri-urban areas make appropriate plans.
However, the largest list of impacted villages is found in the Western Region, where two distinct maintenance exercises are planned at the same time.
Abotareye, Hiawa, Nkakaa, Manso Amenfi, Akyekyere, Bonuama, Suroso, Asankragwa, Mota, Kwesi Bokoro, Aboi Nkwata, Dunkwa, Enhie, Samreboi, M-T-N, Moseaso, Asakra Breman, Odumasi, Kwabeng, Asankra Saa, Agona Amenfi, Jedua Kesse, Agona Camp, and the surrounding areas will be affected by the first operation, which will take place from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
From 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, a second, shorter exercise is planned in the Western Region, impacting a similarly long list of localities. Diabene, Nkroful, Kansaworodu, Ntankorful, Anaji, BU, Fijai, Tanokrom, TTU, New Site, Tadisco, Bankyease, IAdu, Kwesimintsim, Airport Ridge, Kokompe, New Amanful, Apowa, Kejebir, Mphohor, Dominase, Benso, Adum Banso, Whindo, Assakae, Beposo, Seko, and Shama, along with the surrounding areas.
The ECG acknowledged the inconvenience that such technological interventions unavoidably bring to home, commercial, and institutional activity and apologised to all impacted customers in its public notices. Nonetheless, the business told the public that the exercises are required to guarantee the electricity network’s long-term stability and, eventually, to provide customers throughout the areas with better service.
