The Trade Ministry and the Civil Service Council collaborate on strategic roles and service delivery for national development.

The Civil Service Council, led by Chairman Dr Lawrence Kannea, paid a familiarisation visit to the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry (MoTAI) on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026, to strengthen collaboration and discuss ways to improve public service delivery as part of the government’s resetting agenda.

On behalf of the Minister, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, the Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusines, and Industry, Hon. Sampson Ahi, welcomed the group and underlined the shared responsibilities of the government and the Civil Service in promoting national development.

He emphasised that the Trade Ministry continues to be a strategic institution that is vital to drawing in investment and the nation’s overall growth, and he called for justice and professionalism within the Service.

Additionally, Hon. Ahi emphasised the necessity of changing Ghana’s industrial environment by increasing exports and generating long-term job prospects. He also asked the Civil Service Council to offer the assistance required to enable Service employees to perform their jobs successfully and efficiently.

He commended the Ministry’s management and employees once more for their efforts to support the political class in carrying out their mandate.

Mr. Noah Tumfo, Chief Director of the Ministry, gave the Council a briefing on the Ministry’s operations and described the Council’s Ministerial visit as creative. He disclosed that the Ministry employs over 350 people and is present in nine important missions overseas.

He went on to emphasise the Ministry’s dedication to policy development, highlighting in particular the last phase of the Agribusiness Policy, which aims to fortify the industry.

Dr. Lawrence Kannea, the Chairman of the Civil Service Council, thanked Mr. Noah Tumfo, the Chief Director, for his outstanding leadership and commitment to duty while praising the team for their current excellent job.

He emphasised the significance of the Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry Ministry as a major force behind the nation’s economic expansion, pointing out that continued reforms and restructuring call for cooperation from all parties involved in order to produce significant outcomes.

“We want to change the Guggisberg economy and industrialised to create wealth and employment,” said Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh, Head of the Civil Service.

“We are also here to as part of the visit to ensure that Public Bureaucracy delivers and the nation develop” he said.
