The trial of Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, the former CEO of the National Food Buffer Stock Company Limited, and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, will start on 15 July at an Accra High Court.

This comes after the Court and the parties have concluded the Case Management Conference (CMC).

However, the State is required by the Court to release all of the accused individuals’ electronic devices within 14 days.

The order came about as a result of an application made by Faiza’s attorney, Mr. Augustine Obuor, who claimed that since the prosecution had concluded the CMC, it was proper to return the electronic devices—including laptops and cell phones—that had been taken from his client because they had not been mentioned during the conference.

Aludiba’s attorney, Mr. Godfred Yeboah Dame, a former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, also told the Court that the State still had his client’s laptops and cell phones.

As a result, he asked the court to grant their release.

The Deputy Attorney-General, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, did not object to the request other than pointing out that the Forensic Laboratory had not yet issued the devices.

He said that the devices would be given over to the accused in due course, even in the absence of a court ruling.

Mr. Dame had previously told the court that he had submitted a request for 69 papers that the prosecution held on June 11, 2026.

According to him, the records were required so that the accused may properly prepare for their trial.

Twenty counts, including stealing, deceiving by false pretences, abusing public office, intentionally inflicting financial harm to the State, dishonestly receiving, and money laundering, are being brought against the two accused.

They are accused of stealing GH¢78 million from the government.

The suspects have been granted bail after refuting the accusations.
