The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that it will interview candidates for the ten constituencies whose primaries were postponed tomorrow, Wednesday, August 16, 2023.
The Party closed nominations for 10 of the 18 Constituencies last Saturday that were unable to participate in the national parliamentary primaries on May 13 owing to “unresolved issues.”
Tano North, Manhyia South, Mampong, Fomena, Adansi Asokwa, Afram Plains South, Ayensuano, Abuakwa North, Lower West Akim, and Akwatia make up the ten constituencies.
On August 25 and 26, 2023, the Party will have primaries in the respective constituencies. The vetting of candidates for the ten approved Constituencies is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, according to acting NDC Director of Elections Daniel Amartey Mensah.
He claimed that the Party is taking steps to address existing problems so that the remaining eight Constituencies can hold their primaries before the end of the month.
The Party last week approved the holding of primaries to choose candidates to represent the party in the 2024 general election in ten of the 18 suspended constituencies.
