In commemoration of “Constitution Day,” Monday, January 8, 2024, has been formally declared a public holiday by the Ministry of Interior on behalf of the government.
The announcement was announced in a statement by Interior Minister Ambrose Dery, who emphasized the importance of the day. Mr. Dery emphasized that Constitution Day is Sunday, January 7, 2024, and that it is a Statutory Public Holiday.
That being said, in light of the fact that the date occurs on a Sunday, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana has exercised Executive Instrument (E.I) powers in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601).
As a result, an additional public holiday has been formally announced for Monday, January 8, 2024.
The statement called on everyone to mark this day as a national public holiday.
