Mark Forson, a houseboy accused of murdering Dr. Christopher Adu Boahen, the late Professor Albert Adu Boahen’s son, has been placed under detention by a Kaneshie District Court. Forson was charged with murder and the court allowed him to enter a plea.

With the support of ongoing police investigations and the argument that the court had jurisdiction to remand Forson, the prosecution—led by Inspector Isaac K. Buabeng—begged the court to do so. Inspector Buabeng voiced worry that the accused could not show up for their trial if they were granted bail.

In their bail argument, the defense attorney said that Forson cooperated completely and willingly showed up at the police station when they called him.

If given bail, the lawyer promised the court that Forson would appear at trial.

But after hearing arguments from both sides, the judge denied Forson’s request for release and detained him until April 15.

On February 11, 2024, the complainant, a friend of the deceased who works as a surgeon at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, discovered Dr. Christopher Adu Boahen dead in his apartment after smelling something strange next to the door.

The victim was found dead on his bed, and the complainant quickly went to the East Legon Police station to report it.

The prosecution claims that when the police got there, they discovered the dead with a rope around his neck, which raised suspicions of foul play.

After that, the body was brought to the Police Hospital morgue for autopsy and preservation.

The accused, Mark Forson, was taken into custody on March 14, 2024, in relation to the death of Dr. Christopher Adu Boahen. Investigations are still underway, according to the prosecution.
