The 2024 International Firefighters Day celebration was climaxed at the Ghana National Fire Service Headquarters in Accra with a solemn service to honour firefighters who lost their lives in line if duty.
This year’s celebration was themed: “The Contribution of the Firefighter to Safety, National Security, and Sustainable Development.” Prayers were offered for the departed officers, and symbolic coins were laid in their honour.
The Chief Fire Officer, Mr Julius A. Kuunuor condemned recent attacks on firefighters in the Ashanti Region, promising justice for the affected officers and stressed the importance of respecting those who risk their lives for public safety.
