The completion of a “robust and credible” certified final voter registration for the general election scheduled for 2024 has been announced by the Electoral Commission (EC).
The EC met their early November deadline by delivering soft copies of the certified final voters register to political parties in a ceremonial presentation on Wednesday, November 6.
The Commission’s dedication to transparency and accuracy in the December elections was emphasized by EC Chairperson Jean Mensa, who stated, “We now have a robust and credible final certified voters register, which is fit to deliver a credible, transparent, fair, peaceful, and glorious election come December 7, 2024.”
She conveyed appreciation for the successful completion of this crucial election process phase and emphasized that the EC’s timely voter registration preparation was made possible “with the help of God.”
Soft copies of the certified registry will be made accessible by the end of the first week of November, the European Commission promised stakeholders at the most recent IPAC meeting on October 15.
The EC has demonstrated its commitment to an accessible and transparent electoral process by giving political parties enough time to examine the final voter data with the early distribution on November 6.
The EC received 158 issues pertaining to registered voters nationwide after a recent re-exhibition of the updated provisional voters register, she added.
“I’m pleased to note that all the issues have been resolved, and as we speak, we have no further issues regarding the final voters register for the 2024 general election.”
She added that political parties had been given a template by the EC to report any problems with the temporary register.
Notably, no political party voiced any additional worries, highlighting the readiness and acceptance of the register.
