As the nation gets ready for the general election on December 7, Black Stars players have joined appeals for a peaceful voting process.
Ghanaians will vote in the election to choose the country’s next president and representatives in parliament.
Key members of the national team, such as Kingsley Schindler, Gideon Mensah, Razak Simpson, Isaac Afful, and stand-in captain Mohammed Kudus, have urged people to embrace unity and refrain from violence during this crucial time.
“I’m here to urge for a peaceful election” “We are all one in the country before and after elections. I wish you all well and have peaceful elections,” Kudus stated.
“The election presents the citizens the opportunity to shape the country as they want it. I urge everybody to exercise patience and peace and also value each and everyone’s opinion, and let’s keep going.” Gideon Mensah also emphasized the importance of elections in promoting democracy
The Black Stars will resume play in March 2025 as they advance in the 2026 World Cup qualifying round.
Their calls for peace, meantime, are a welcome reminder of how crucial cooperation and solidarity are throughout the election season.
