The Ministry of Finance has been instructed by President John Dramani Mahama to rescope the Pwalugu Multipurpose Dam project in order to include it in his administration’s Big Push infrastructure agenda.
He clarified that this action is intended to guarantee that the initiative gets the funding and technical support required to improve upper-eastern agricultural, irrigation, and flood management.
The declaration was made by Mahama at Jubilee Park in Bolgatanga during his Thank You trip, when he thanked the locals and chiefs for their support in the general elections of 2024.
He restated his administration’s resolve to address the region’s developmental issues.
Mahama addressed concerns about inadequate road infrastructure by pointing out the terrible condition of important road networks, including the Bolgatanga-Wa and Bolgatanga-Bawku roads.
Recognizing commuters’ struggles, he promised locals that his government would give their restoration first priority as part of the Big Push program.
Mahama has had the chance to interact with traditional leaders and civilians through his Thank You tour, which has strengthened his resolve to eliminate infrastructure gaps and promote progress.
He is anticipated to visit the Northern Region as part of his next statewide trip after his engagements in the Upper East Region.
“The people of the Upper East Region deserve better roads, and I want to assure you that we are determined to complete these projects to ease transportation and boost economic activities,” he stated.
