Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, has reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working with the private sector to boost the growth and competitiveness of Ghana’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

When a delegation from MTN Ghana paid her a courtesy call at the Ministry in Accra on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, she made the assurance.

Ms. Adwoa Wiafe, the company’s Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, headed the MTN Ghana delegation.

Opportunities for cooperation between the Ministry and MTN Ghana to boost MSMEs’ growth, encourage entrepreneurship, and investigate other areas of shared interest targeted at accelerating economic growth were the main topics of discussion.

The discussion also looked at ways to support the government’s efforts to bolster the MSME sector by utilising MTN Ghana’s experience and corporate social investment activities.

In response to the suggestions, Hon. Ofosu-Adjare thanked MTN Ghana for the visit and stated that the company is eager to work with the Ministry to forward Ghana’s strategy for enterprise development and industrialisation.

She stated that the Ministry would determine priority areas where cooperation would have the biggest effect, especially in helping small firms become more sustainable and competitive.

The Minister also emphasised the significance of collaborating closely with the Ghana Enterprises Agency to increase entrepreneurial opportunities through seed capital, start-up assistance, and skill development so that MSMEs can expand and generate employment.

She expressed hope that increased cooperation between the Ministry and MTN Ghana will greatly boost entrepreneurship, encourage innovation, and quicken the nation’s private sector-led economic growth.
