Fire destroys shops and goods at Adum, Kumasi

Numerous stores and properties have been destroyed by a large fire breakout at the Adum Market in the Kumasi Central Business District.

Beginning in the early hours of March 21, the fire quickly spread to nearby stores.

Five fire tenders are battling the fire, according to a statement from the fire department.

The uppermost portion of a four-story business building at Adum was consumed by the fire.

According to the fire service, the first appliance from Regional Headquarters reached the fire scene at 06:15 am after it was notified of the incident at 6:05 am.

The fire is now being fought by three more fire engines, a turntable ladder from the Regional Headquarters, KNUST, Ejisu, and Twedie.

At the scene, managing the event are the Regional Fire Commander, his Deputy, Operations officers, and additional District Commanders.
