The deputy minister of food and agriculture and member of parliament for Nanton, Alhaji Mohammed Hardi Tufeirua, was injured in an accident.
He began his routine commute to Parliament in order to take part in the day’s parliamentary activities. He anticipated a hectic day, especially the arguments on the three revenue proposals that were slated for consideration.
He was concerned that his votes would be used to pass the three laws. He was therefore taken in an ambulance to the legislature where he cast his ballot before being taken to the hospital to receive medical care.
