Ghana’s strong commitment to preserving its historical and cultural landmarks was underlined by Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, during the 47th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, which is now taking place in Paris.

In order to strengthen Ghana’s position in Africa’s creative industries, she emphasized programs like the Black Star Experience, the implementation of the 2030 Culture Indicators, and conservation efforts for Ghana’s Forts and Castles.

Hon. Gomashie also highlighted Ghana’s conformity to international frameworks for the preservation of both tangible and intangible heritage and praised the advancements made in UNESCO’s African heritage strategy.

As she expressed Ghana’s support for unity on heritage policy within the Africa Group, she added, “We’re not just preserving the past; we’re shaping the cultural future.”
