A significant upgrade to ENI’s gas infrastructure was successfully completed, increasing the gas supply from 245 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to 270 MMscfd, according to the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition.

According to the Ministry, the improvement marks a critical turning point in its efforts to give the nation a reliable and sustainable energy source.

Ghana’s power industry is anticipated to benefit from the additional gas capacity, which will also spur overall economic expansion.

On Monday, July 14, 2025, the Ministry issued a statement expressing gratitude to ENI and other power sector players for their joint efforts in carrying out the crucial improvement.

“This enhancement in gas supply is a significant step towards ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy supply for the nation. The increased capacity will support the power sector and contribute to the overall economic growth of Ghana,” the statement noted.

The Ministry also expressed gratitude to the public for their patience and cooperation throughout the project’s execution phase, emphasizing the continued importance of public support in the nation’s energy transformation efforts.

Richmond Rockson, the Ministry’s spokesperson and head of communication, reiterated the Ministry’s dedication to providing a reliable and enhanced power supply for all Ghanaians, while also stating that the government is still committed to creating a modern and resilient energy sector.
