Former Kumasi mayor Kojo Bonsu called to congratulate former president John Mahama on winning the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) nationwide presidential primary on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
After former Bank of Ghana governor Kwabena Duffuor withdrew from the election due to “blatant irregularities,” Mr. Bonsu was Mr. Mahama’s only opponent.
I have called H.E. John Dramani Mahama to congratulate him on the overwhelming victory, Mr. Bonsu said in a Facebook post, despite the fact that the electoral body that oversaw the election has not yet made any formal declaration of the results of the flag bearer race.
“Just as I’ve said throughout my campaign, I’ll continue to serve the NDC party regardless of the outcome of this election,”
