Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, and the entire Asanteman observed the one-week anniversary of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, with the participation of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The nation was engulfed in grief and remembering following the death of the 16th Asantehemaa, who was renowned for her grace and wisdom, earlier this month.
President Akufo-Addo paid a moving homage to the late queen mother, calling her “an elegant and beloved traditional leader who embodied the best values of courage, honesty, and thoughtfulness.”
“I enjoyed her company immensely and will be bereft at her departure”” he wrote, reflecting positively on their interactions.

“Let the ancestors and the Almighty God usher her warmly into heaven, and let her soul rest peacefully in His Bosom until the Last Day of the Resurrection, when we shall all meet again,” the former president added in his prayer for her eternal repose.
As Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III was crucial in maintaining Asante culture and directing traditional leadership. A pivotal period in the Asante Kingdom comes to a close with her death, but her wisdom, humility, and loyalty to her people will live on.
