An enumeration effort has been launched in the Asante Akim South Municipality by the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP) via the Ghana National Household Registry (GNHR).
The exercise aims to gather precise data on households and populations to support efficient planning, focused development interventions, and inclusion in national social protection programs. It is a component of the ongoing national scale-up of the GNHR database and the nationwide Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) reassessment.
The Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, made a working visit as part of the enumeration process to observe the exercise and engage with the Saviour Church Community members in the Asante Akim South Municipality.

By giving priority to the complete census of residents, the Minister’s visit carries out the commitments made to the community, guaranteeing that all homes are covered and that all eligible families are taken into consideration for future enrollment in LEAP and other important government social security programs.
Since the unfortunate tragedy, the Ministry has been carrying out its mandate by offering material and psychosocial support to impacted families and the community at large, in addition to the activities listed.
Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey praised the President for his dedication to using the Ministry to promote the welfare of marginalized communities, especially children.
She also thanked the local government and the Municipal Chief Executive for their ongoing assistance to the resentful families and the community as a whole.
The Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to bolstering social protection services to guarantee that no household in need is left behind as she wrapped up her visit.
She underlined that the Ministry is striving to provide a safety net that will help the most vulnerable and impoverished members of society by means of initiatives like LEAP and other supplemental interventions.
Alongside the Minister were the Head of the GNHR, Dr. Richard Adjetey; the Chief Director of the Ministry, Dr. Afisah Zakariah; and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Maame Sarfoah Appiah, MCE for Asante Akim South.
