A Circuit Court in Cape Coast has convicted 49-year-old fisherman Samuel Armah, better known as ‘Kofi Nyan’, to 10 years’ imprisonment with hard labour.
This was after he pleaded guilty to defiling a 13-year-old girl at Mumford in the Central Region.
According to the news statement released by the Central Regional Police Command on October 29 2025, the offence occurred on October 16, 2025.
The suspect reportedly lured the victim into a ghetto in Mumford, where the act was recorded in a viral video.
Prior to the case being reported to the Central Region’s Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), the victim was first brought to St. Luke Catholic Hospital for assessment and care.
After reportedly confessing to the crime at the DOVVSU, Armah was remanded to Ankaful Prison to start serving his time.
Residents of Mumford and the nearby areas have also been urged by the police to help capture four known accomplices who are still at large: Agoogo, Edina, Kwesi Abbam, and Agya Ankoto.
