Registration for new delegates has begun, according to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in anticipation of its presidential primary on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

The party claims that the addition of new categories of party leaders and dignitaries to the voter list complies with transitional arrangements approved at the National Annual Delegates Conference in Accra on July 19, 2025, as well as Article 13(1)(11) of the party’s constitution.

The decision aims to increase participation and guarantee inclusivity in the party’s internal elections, according to a statement released by Mr. William Yamoah, Secretary to the Presidential Elections Committee.

It noted that all former regional and constituency executives, members of the National Council of Elders, thirty members of the National Council of Patrons, and former national officers will now be included in the updated record, which is sometimes referred to as the party’s “album.”

The enlarged list also includes past Ministers and Deputy Ministers, TESCON heads, external branch executives, and previous Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).

“All officers that fall under these categories are requested to register their names with their respective organizational structures, including the National Secretariat, Regions, Constituencies, and External Branches, as applicable, with immediate effect,” the statement read.

Forms can be downloaded from the party’s official website, and external branch leaders will have access to an online registration portal to streamline the process.

Registration is due on Friday, September 19, 2025.

In order to guarantee that only a legitimate and trustworthy register is used for the conduct of the presidential election, the Presidential Elections Committee will conduct a thorough verification and validation of the album. Mr. William Yamoah, Secretary to the Committee, emphasized the party’s dedication to openness and equity.
