AirtelTigo, a network operator, has launched its Embedded SIM (eSIM) service in Ghana, preparing to provide consumers with access to cellular service via a virtual SIM.

Users of eSIM-compatible phones won’t need actual SIM cards any more, enabling them to use multiple service providers on the same device.

As a result, AirtelTigo is the country of Ghana’s first network provider to provide this service. The digital revolution sweeping through the telecom and smartphone industries now includes the eSIM technology.

Leo Skarlatos, CEO of AirtelTigo, provided additional details about this new release, saying, “With the introduction of eSIM, AirtelTigo continues to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to innovation by giving its customers the much-needed flexibility to use the most cutting-edge devices currently available globally and keep up with current technological trends.

We work hard to uphold our pledge to simplify life for all of our consumers with cutting-edge goods and services. Existing AirtelTigo users are not charged for the eSIM upgrade.

We invite customers who have eSIM-capable phones to stop by any AirtelTigo location starting on Monday, November 28 to receive an eSIM and become pioneers in their business. In addition, Atul Narain Singh, Chief Marketing Officer for AirtelTigo, said, “eSIM gives eSIM compatible handsets more freedom by switching them from single SIM to dual SIM devices.

Additionally, AirtelTigo eSIM would simplify life for users who frequently travel abroad and have to manually swap between SIM cards whenever they cross borders. Smartphone users can dial *#06# to see if their handsets support eSIM or not; eSIM-compatible phones will display a barcode on their screens that starts with the letters “EID.”

We have a lot of faith that both current and potential consumers would switch over swiftly to our eSIM due to the benefits it offers. AirtelTigo’s dedication to digitization and the introduction of this most recent eSIM technology in Ghana were praised by Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Minister for Communication and Digitalization. Mobile phone, data, mobile financial services, and business connectivity solutions are just a few of the dynamic and cutting-edge telecommunications services offered by Ghanaian-owned AirtelTigo.

AirtelTigo continuously innovates under the guiding principle of “customer first” to make life easier for its consumers.
