Apaak, Dumelo and Gizella named in Mahama’s first batch of Deputy Ministers

Clement Apaak, John Setor Dumelo, Gizella Tettey-Agbotui, and other individuals have been nominated by President Mahama to serve as deputy ministers.

The appointments will be vetted by Parliament before being approved.

The first group of deputy ministry nominees nominated by President John Dramani Mahama have been sent to Parliament for confirmation.

Important members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who are anticipated to support the execution of government programs are among the nominees, who were chosen in accordance with Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the Constitution.

Samson Ahi, who was proposed as the Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, is one of the new hires. Gizella Tettey-Agbotui has been chosen to serve in the Ministry of Works, Housing, and Water Resources, and Clement Abas Apaak has been appointed Deputy Minister for Education.

Rita Naa Odoley Sowah for the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs; Justice Srem-Sai for the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General; and Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini for the Ministry of Roads and Highways are among the other noteworthy nominees in the first batch.

John Kofi Setor Dumelo, a former actor who is now a politician, has also been nominated to be the Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture.

Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba has also been nominated by the President to serve as the Minister of State for Public Sector Reforms.

Before the appointees may formally assume their positions, the nominations must now pass legislative review and approval.
