Samuel Nartey George the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, has urged Corporate Ghana to engage with the government to build the nation’s digital workforce.
He called on computer companies, telecom providers, banks, and other businesses in the private sector to help by offering internships, mentorship, scholarships, equipment contributions, and job openings.
He believes that companies will eventually profit from the One Million Coders Program’s development of a workforce with digital skills.
The Minister stated that ongoing cooperation between the government, academia, and business is necessary to meet the program’s goal of training one million Ghanaians.
He thanked Google, MTN, Telecel, Huawei, and partner agencies for their contributions to the initiative’s execution.
