The Czech president, Petr Pavel, will visit Ghana for three days from April 8 to April 10, 2025, at the invitation of President John Dramani Mahama.
This is the first time a Czech president has visited since Ghana and the former Czechoslovakia established diplomatic relations in October 1959.
Particularly noteworthy is the fact that this will be President Mahama’s first State Visit since taking office again in January 2025.
President Pavel will speak at a business summit, hold bilateral talks with President Mahama, and open a medical facility that is supported by the Czech Republic when he is there.
He will also take a tour of well-known Ghanaian sites, such as Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Osu Castle.
President Mahama will give the visiting Head of State a State Dinner to commemorate the event.
It is anticipated that the visit will improve ties between Ghana and Czechia and encourage cooperation in fields of shared interest. As the visit progresses, more information will be provided.
