The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a temporary emergency power outage in parts of the Greater Accra Region to allow engineers to repair a fault and improve electricity service delivery.
The planned maintenance and fault-repair exercise will take place on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Oshiyie
Old Bortianor
Kings University College
Tetegu Wassaman
Surrounding communities
ECG explained that the temporary power interruption is necessary to enable its engineers to work safely on the identified fault and improve the reliability of electricity supply in the affected areas.
Residents and businesses in the affected communities are advised to make the necessary preparations ahead of the scheduled ECG power outage.
The Electricity Company of Ghana has apologised for the inconvenience the emergency maintenance exercise may cause and thanked customers for their patience and cooperation.
