In 1 Samuel 18:7 we are told some women sang to praise David following his achievements in war including killing Goliath, and this amounted to teasing Saul. Indeed the Bible said “As the women danced, they sang: “Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands.”
If Saul had any anger, he should have targeted and killed the women who sang to praise David. But he ignored them and rather pursued David who had killed Goliath and deserved to be celebrated. Why? Because he felt David was the one who could take the throne from him.
Beloved, there’s always a reason why the devil won’t stop pursuing us . It is because we carry God’s promise and you carry a certain huge divine testimony that cannot even be purchased with money. Else Saul would have purchased the kinship from David. Why should a king fight with a mere shepherd whose friends are only animals? You see yourself as having nothing, yet you face persecutions all the time.
The good news is that God has already destined your greatness and no amount of persecution will thwart it. The waives of the sea shakes the fishes in the sea but it doesn’t bring any live fish to the sea shore except those that are dead. So long as we carry divine destinies, persecutions would come at us like tidal waives but as long as we are not dead by the grace, God will not allow these tidal waives and persecutions to push us out of the sea and where we are destined to be.
Also, remember In Jeremiah 5, God said He made the sand to serve as boundary to the sea and an everlasting barrier that the sea cannot cross. The waive may roll and roar but cannot cross the sand barrier. Indeed, though the ocean may be a billion times bigger and more powerful than the sand, it cannot overpower the sand barrier.
