The nationwide school placement procedure for 2025 will start on Wednesday, September 17, according to the Ghana Education Service (GES).

The procedure comes after the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) preliminary results are made public.

Successful applicants must go to their respective senior high schools between October 18 and October 20, according to Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, Director-General of the GES, who gave this explanation during a media briefing on Wednesday, August 27.

He mentioned that this year’s placement exercise was planned to reduce mistakes and increase openness.

The Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal, www.csses.gov.gh, now offers a review window for candidates to confirm their information.

“To reduce errors associated with school placement, candidates will have the opportunity to review the entries they have made—gender, school code, and programme code—online at www.csses.gov.gh.”

“This will be supported by an explainer video to guide parents. The review exercise begins on September 1 and ends on September 8,” Professor Davis urged.

He also emphasized that placement is decided only by merit and the established selection process, warning parents and candidates against paying middlemen to get into selected schools.

“The actual placement exercise will commence on September 17. Students are expected to report to campus and begin their studies between October 18 and 20. Nobody should pay anyone for placement,” he cautioned.
