Speaker of the 9th Parliament, Rt Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has been formally congratulated on his reelection by a delegation from the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
This comes after GFA President Kurt Okraku-Mantey visited to offer his congratulations and talk about possible partnerships to promote football in Ghana.
A document called “State of Ghana Football,” which describes the current state of football in Ghana, its difficulties, and its remedies, was also delivered by the delegation.
During his speech, the Rt. Hon. Speaker urged the public to embrace football and affirmed that it is a viable endeavor that deserves investment.
In order to find and develop emerging talent, he also urged the group to go on regional tours.
Majority Leader Hon. Mahama Ayariga, Minority Leader Hon. Alexander Afenyo Markin, Chairman of the Parliamentary Sports Committee Hon. Ernest Norgbey, Clerk to Parliament Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, and Parliamentary Service representatives joined the Speaker in welcoming the delegation.
