Ghana’s Deputy Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sanni Jajah Dies

Ghana has been hit by a sad diplomatic loss following the death of the country’s Deputy Head of Mission to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, HE Alhaji Sanni Jajah.

The death of the senior Ghanaian diplomat was confirmed by his relative and Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North, Hon. Yussif Issaka Jajah.

According to the MP, Sanni Jajah passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in what has come as a major loss to his family, colleagues and Ghana’s diplomatic community.

In a statement shared on social media, Yussif Issaka Jajah expressed deep sorrow over the passing of his nephew.

“With a heavy heart, I regret to inform you all that I have lost my nephew, SANI JAJAH, Ghana’s Deputy Ambassador to Saudi Arabia,” he stated.

He added that the family would provide further information regarding the funeral arrangements and burial plans in due course.

The MP appealed to friends, sympathisers and the public to remember the bereaved family in their thoughts and prayers as they come to terms with the loss.

He concluded by praying for the deceased diplomat’s soul to rest in perfect peace.

The passing of Sanni Jajah is expected to draw attention within Ghana’s foreign service and diplomatic community, particularly given his role in strengthening Ghana-Saudi Arabia relations.
