Ghana Health Service and its partners commemorated World Hepatitis Day ahead of the global observance on Sunday, 28 July ,in Accra yesterday, under the theme; “It’s Time for Action!”

In Ghana, Hepatitis remains a significant public health challenge, with 2.8 million people infected.

This highlights the urgent need for enhanced multi-stakeholder collaboration to eliminate the disease by 2030.

The event took place at the Ablekuma North Municipality, where officials emphasized the importance of raising awareness, public education, testing, and early treatment.

Residents in the municipality also took advantage of free screening services to assess their health status.
