The 17-member Bono Regional Lands Commission Board was inaugurated by Hon. Yusif Sulemana, Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, who underlined the government’s commitment to transform land administration through extensive digitization and governance reforms.

Hon. Sulemana stressed the strategic significance of effective land governance for the advancement of the country in his speech. “This inauguration underscores our collective responsibility to establish land administration systems that guarantee security, equity, and economic empowerment,” said the president.

In carrying out their mandate, the board members were tasked by the Deputy Minister to maintain the highest levels of professionalism.

Hon. Sulemana emphasized the government’s transformation strategy, emphasizing that “land must be secure, accessible, and efficiently managed to unlock its full potential for national development.”

He emphasized the importance of the Bono Region as a center for agriculture and urged the Commission to improve the efficiency of land services in order to increase productivity.

• Full implementation of the Enterprise Land Information System (ELIS) for digital land records

• Elimination of manual processes to reduce discretion and corruption

• Creation of integrated digital platforms for seamless service delivery.

The creation of the Commission, according to Bono Regional Minister Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa (Esq.), is essential to responsible land governance.

“As custodians of this vital asset, we must ensure land management supports agriculture, infrastructure, and housing and preserves our cultural heritage,” he said.

Prof. Anthony Owusu-Ansah, Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission, reminded members of their grave responsibility:

“Your appointment reflects the nation’s confidence in your ability to deliver transparent and efficient land administration services that drive development.”

The recently sworn-in chairman of the board promised to give priority to

• Enhanced land tenure security

• Streamlined administrative processes

• Transparent operations

• Stakeholder collaboration

The Ministry’s extensive land sector reforms, which aim to create effective, technologically advanced land administration systems in every region, have reached another significant milestone with this inauguration.
