The Minister underlined the urgent need to improve the state of Ghana’s road network in order to spur economic growth and raise the standard of living for inhabitants while speaking yesterday during a tour of the various agencies under the Roads Ministry.

Additionally, Hon. Agbodza emphasized the importance of making sure road projects are cost-effective and sustainable for the nation.

In order to decide whether to classify unfinished initiatives as active or to put them on hold until money becomes available, he intends to seek professional opinions.

The Minister stated that the existing capping is detrimental to the road industry and pledged to support the decapping of the Roads Fund at the different engagements.

He clarified that the central government keeps more than half of the money, which causes interest rates to rise and contractor payments to be delayed.

The Minister emphasized that it is his duty to cooperate with employees, contractors, and other stakeholders to address the issues affecting the road industry.
