The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has decided to call off its scheduled strike after receiving a response from the government on its demands.
In a statement made on Tuesday and signed by JUSAG’s National President, Mr. Samuel Afotey Otu, it was stated that “the planned strike has been suspended pending the implementation of the payment plan by the government.”
The government addressed JUSAG’s concerns following the Association’s earlier announcement of an indefinite strike scheduled to commence on January 19, 2026, due to delays in paying eight months’ salary arrears to employees.
“Staff of the Judicial Service are therefore encouraged to continue their regular duties while we monitor the progress of implementation,” the statement said.
The National Labour Commission called a meeting with representatives from the Ministry of Finance and the Judicial Service to address the issues raised by the announcement of a strike.
