Let’s fight to uphold Ghana’s security and peace, says President Akufo-Addo

In order to support economic progress, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has asked the populace to put in significant effort to maintain Ghana’s current state of peace and security.

He claimed that those two factors were what potential investors sought for in a country before committing their resources, and that Ghana already possessed them, making her an alluring location for investments, therefore the need to safeguard them.

At the culmination of the Godigbe Festival and the 25th Anniversary of the coronation of Torgbui Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V, the Paramount Chief of Aflao, the President made this statement in a speech that was read for him by Mr. Ambrose Dery, the Interior Minister.

“25 Years of Inspirational Leadership and the Restoration of the Rights and Privileges of the Aflawuawo” was the festival’s theme.

“Peace and security are essential preconditions for the nation’s economic prosperity. Ghana has been fortunate to maintain stability and peace over the years, he remarked.

Ghana has been ranked as the second-most peaceful nation in Africa, after the Island of Mauritius, for the past two years running.

In order to ensure that Ghana remains calm and safe for us all to fulfill the objectives of government, I would want to appeal to all of you.

The government’s commitment to the welfare of Ghanaians was expressed by President Akufo-Addo, who praised the security agencies for their contributions to maintaining the nation’s peace and security and pledged to provide them with all the logistical support they need.

Despite the present difficulties, he said, the government’s courageous but difficult decisions had yielded some benefits and added that government would work to return the nation to the path of prosperity.

Former President John Dramani joined a delegation of chiefs from various regions of Ghana as well as the republics of Togo and Benin for the Godigbe Festival of the chiefs and people of Aflao and the coronation anniversary.
