National Democratic Party (NDC) 2024 Flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has pledged free WiFi to all public second cycle and tertiary institutions nationwide in the event that the NDC forms the next government.
He promises his government will maintain the NDC’s historic investments in the education sector, of which this will be a part.
In order to support academic work, he claims that free WiFi access will be available in key spots across the various campuses.
“As part of our education policy, we are going to make sure secondary and tertiary educational institutions have what we call a Wi-fi zone and so if you have to do your work and you have your laptop or tablet, if you go there you can connect to the Wi-fi and do your homework, do whatever you have to do and then you can submit your work to your lecturers,” he reiterated.
“If you know NDC, we don’t promise what we can’t do. We will make sure every public tertiary and secondary institution has a wi-fi zone,” he urged.
Mahama was giving a speech as part of the “Building Ghana Tour” at a campus connect event at Savannah College of Education.
