President John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to oversee the handover of the Right-of-Way clearance for the Accra-Kumasi Expressway Project on Monday, September 14, 2026.

The ceremony will take place at Kwaso near Ejisu in the Ashanti Region and is expected to mark a significant milestone in the development of one of Ghana’s major road infrastructure projects.

The Accra-Kumasi Expressway Project is aimed at improving road connectivity between Ghana’s capital, Accra, and Kumasi, the Ashanti Region’s commercial hub.

The project is expected to enhance the movement of people, goods and services between the two major cities while supporting trade, transportation and economic activity along the route.

The Right-of-Way handover represents an important step toward advancing the project and facilitating the construction of the proposed expressway.

Once completed, the Accra-Kumasi Expressway is expected to improve transportation efficiency, reduce travel challenges and strengthen connectivity between communities along the corridor.

The project forms part of broader efforts to improve Ghana’s road infrastructure and support economic development through efficient transportation networks.
