The chair of the committee that will screen the 11 candidates running to be the party’s leader in the general elections of 2024 has been named by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), a former Speaker of Parliament.
The committee’s work is scheduled to begin on July 3 and end on July 6, 2023.
Mr. Skyere Abankwa, Madam Rita Asobayire, Auntie Fio, Frank Davie, the Chair of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Research Committee Chaired by O.B Amoah, and Organizational Committee Chaired by Lord Commey are the other members of the committee.
When Mr. Alan Kyeremanten, a former minister of trade and industry, turned in his nomination form on Monday, June 12, at the party’s headquarters in Accra, the director of elections, Evans Nimarko, named the members of the committee.
In the interim, the party has disclosed a modification to its schedule for the next Orphan Constituency and presidential primaries.

The screening of potential presidential aspirants will take place from Monday, July 3, through Thursday, July 6, 2023, per the party’s updated schedule.
On Monday, July 10, 2023, the Vetting Committee’s Report will be delivered to the National Council via the General Secretary.

The National Presidential Appeals Committee (NPAC) will accept petitions from July 12 through July 14, 2023, if any.
