Nine to compete in the NPP primaries in Ejisu

Nine candidates have submitted documents in order to compete in the NPP parliamentary primary for the 2018 Ejisu constituency by-elections.

Tuesday, April 2, marked the opening of the nominations period, which ended on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

Acheampong Abronye, a private attorney, Kwabena Boateng, a private attorney and the party’s second vice chairman in the constituency, Dr. Evans Duah, a lecturer at the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development, and Mr. Kwasi Nyantakyi, the former president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), are among the candidates.

The other candidates are Mr. Clinsman Karikari Mensah, a former assembly member for the Onwe electoral area; Maame Yaa Aboagye; Mrs. Abenaa Pokua Amoah, the Ashanti Regional NPP Women Campaign Manager, who is running for a fifth term; and Mr. Aaron Prince Duah, a former assembly member for the Essienimpong electoral area.

The nine candidates are vying to succeed the late Dr. John Apontua Kumah, a deputy minister of finance as well as the local MP.
