The Ghana Police Service has announced nationwide security measures to safeguard the safety of all citizens during the 2026 Easter festivities.
The Public Affairs Directorate stated in a news release on April 2, 2026, that strong precautions have been implemented, such as the nationwide deployment of police officers to strategic places anticipated to host sizable rallies.
Officers have been stationed at event grounds, leisure centers, and other high-traffic places in the Kwahu enclave, a main hub for Easter activities, according to the statement.
Increased police presence will also be seen on major routes to and from Kwahu, with traffic officers assigned to control traffic and guarantee efficient vehicle flow.
The police also revealed that intelligence-driven operations have been launched nationwide to stop and quickly address any illegal conduct throughout the holiday season.
The public has been asked by the Service to maintain alertness, assist security staff, and closely follow safety guidelines.
Drivers have been urged to abide by traffic laws, not speed, not drive while intoxicated, and follow the directions of on-duty police officials.
The police also urged people to take personal safety measures and to notify the closest police station right away of any suspicious activity.
The Ghana Police Service wished everyone a safe and joyous Easter celebration while reassuring the public of its dedication to upholding law and order.
