The robbers who shot two police officers dead on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Poyamirea, on the outskirts of Binduri in the Upper East Region, are being sought by the Ghana Police Service.
The slain officers were riding from Bongo to Binduri on their private motorcycle while wearing mufti, or plain clothes, according to the preliminary inquiry. At the time of the incident, their motorcycle was taken away.
In accordance with custom and tradition, the officers’ names have been kept confidential while efforts are made to appropriately inform their families.
The Police Administration released a statement expressing “its deepest condolences to the Commander, the bereaved family, and all officers and men in the region.”
“You are in our thoughts and prayers.”
“We would like to assure the general public that the perpetrators of this heinous crime will be arrested and brought to face justice, and we will surely get them,” the statement said, signed by Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Director, Public Affairs.
