According to a news release dated Friday, September 29, 2023, issued by Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi, Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, about 122,275 prospective national service individuals have been deployed to various institutions around the country for the 2023–2024 service year.
The employees include private registrants, defaulters who applied for posts, and eligible Ghanaian graduates from approved academic institutions in 2023.
On Monday, October 16, 2023, regional validation and registration are set to start around the nation, giving flexibility to individuals who haven’t finished their academic programs.
On Wednesday, November 1, 2023, the 2023–2024 National Service year will officially begin.
However, administration of the National Service Scheme made clear that it did not support changes in postings and warned staff to avoid interacting with unknown people or groups that claimed to be able to change their assigned placements.
The message cautioned service personnel from contacting anonymous persons or groups to update their posting on their behalf because management does not accept such requests.
