A Presidential Investment Forum with the topic “Ghana is Open for Business—Unleashing Investment Opportunities for Shared Prosperity” was organized by Ghana during the 9th Tokyo International Conference for African Development (TICAD 9).

Through the forum, Ghana and Japan were able to strengthen their already-existing commercial relationships while also investigating new prospects for cooperation and investment.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. John Dramani Mahama, spoke to the audience and highlighted the advantages of investing in Ghana as well as the numerous opportunities that exist there.

His Excellency Ghana is a democratic nation that is politically secure, business-friendly, and well situated to act as the entry point to Africa with a developing consumer market, according to the president.

Furthermore, he said that the nation’s microeconomic foundations have improved and emphasized that investors had a plethora of options due to the country’s favorable business environment.

He stated that exporting from Ghana meant having access to roughly 1.4 billion customers because the operationalization of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) gave further benefits for the free movement of goods and services to nations that are members of the agreement.

He admitted that certain Japanese businesses operate in Ghana, assembling Toyota and other brands of automobiles for both local and international markets.

Bringing up the availability of fertile land and sources of water for irrigation, His Excellency the President urged investors to think about investing in the nation’s agriculture industry.

Following that, he gave his word that Ghana, through the appropriate agencies, is ready to help investors get the support they require for their establishment.
