In the Eastern Region, the government plans to build a 3.6-kilometer bridge across the River Afram in addition to a roughly 100-kilometer road system.

This program, which is a component of President Mahama’s “Big Push” infrastructure plan, attempts to decrease poverty, promote economic growth, and increase agricultural output.

The highways Mpraeso – Obomeng – Nkawkaw, Abooso – Mpaem, Mpaem – Kwahu – Adawso, and Feyiase – Kwahu Tafo were among those under consideration.

The others are Donkorkrom – New Kyeiase, Takoratwene – Dome, Ekye Amanfrom – Takoratwene, and Takoratwene – Donkorkrom.

Hon. Kwame Agbodza, the Minister of Highways and Highways, led a group of engineers earlier today to evaluate the bridge’s planned location as well as a few important highways.

After the evaluation tour, Hon. Agbodza told reporters at Donkorkrom that President Mahama is “committed to opening up the Afram Plains once and for all.”

“The bridge, when completed, will connect the Eastern, Ashanti, and OTI regions in a very strategic way. It will open up the place for big-time agriculture and investment in agro-processing,” he emphasized.

It is anticipated that the project will promote regional integration, boost economic development, and create revenue from agriculture and other industries.
