A committee has been established by Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Education, to create a plan for converting Senior High Schools and Senior High Technical Schools from the double-track system to the single-track system.
Under the direction of Professor Peter Grant of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), the Committee is composed of representatives from the Ghana Education Service (GES), the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), and other important players in the educational field.
In order to guarantee a seamless transition without sacrificing quality or accessibility, they are required to evaluate the current system, conduct extensive consultation, and suggest workable changes.
The Hon. Minister of Education, who spoke at the inauguration, underlined the government’s dedication to enhancing the educational system and guaranteeing that every student has access to continuous learning opportunities.
The Ministry is eager to hear the committee’s recommendations and is steadfast in its resolve to put laws into place that improve the standard of education for all Ghanaian children.
