The African Political Parties Summit will take place in the Accra International Conference Center from today, August 12, to August 14, 2025, organized by the Africa Governance Center in collaboration with the Ghanaian government.
Participants will include heads of state, leaders of political parties, leaders of civil society, academic experts, and representatives from international development organizations, as well as representatives from more than 100 political parties and 50 African and Caribbean nations.
The Summit will be “a strategic platform for dialogue, consensus-building, and inter-party cooperation aimed at strengthening democratic governance and catalyzing economic transformation on the African continent,” according to a statement copied to Ghana News Agency on Monday.
“From Politics to Prosperity: Strengthening Inter-Party Collaboration for Africa’s Development and Economic Transformation” is the theme of the event.
The agenda will include plenary sessions, strategic forums, and side meetings, with President John Dramani Mahama anticipated to provide the opening remarks.
According to the release, the African Political Parties Initiative (APPI), a premier institutional forum for ongoing inter-party engagement and capacity building, would formally approve its implementation framework during the event.
In order to gain access to plenary proceedings, press briefings, interview opportunities, and picture chances with summit leaders, local and foreign journalists attending the summit have been encouraged to apply for official credentials.
To promote Africa’s economic transformation, the Africa Governance Centre is an independent think tank dedicated to advancing policy development, institutional capacity building, and excellence in governance.
In order to create a wealthy and inclusive continent, the organization seeks to improve government institutions and promote systemic change through research, capacity building, and strategic partnerships.
