In order to support the Ark Foundation Ghana’s shelter services, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, brought vital materials that were purchased under the MoGCSP–UNFPA Ghana initiative.
Once the Minister had evaluated the facility’s needs, she also contributed additional goods from her personal commitment.
In addition, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey personally donated GHC 10,000 to help the Foundation with administrative expenses and survivor welfare.
The Ark Foundation is a prominent organization in Ghana that offers disadvantaged children and abused mothers psychosocial support, legal assistance, counseling, and refuge.
The Minister’s efforts to improve cooperation with frontline service providers, who are essential to the country’s protection system, included this visit.

The visit is in line with the Ministry’s work plan and signifies a renewed commitment to assisting organisations that provide vital assistance to survivors of abuse, the Minister said, accompanied by a few Ministry officials.
The Minister thanked the Foundation for its longstanding support of Ghana’s social protection system.
She described the visit as both official and very personal, explaining how The Ark Foundation was crucial to her own early years in social work and gender advocacy.
Dr. Angela Dwamena Aboagye, Executive Director of The Ark Foundation, greeted the delegation and emphasised the organization’s role in offering women and children fleeing domestic and gender-based abuse sanctuary, crisis response, and rehabilitation programs.
She pointed out that the Foundation still faces serious operational and financial difficulties in spite of the vital services they provide.
The Ark Foundation’s management thanked the Minister and the Ministry, characterising the action as significant and timely.
