The Ministry of Defence has presented its estimates and policy objectives for the year 2026 to the Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Interior for discussion.
According to Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson, Acting Minister of Defense, the Ministry’s budget allocation for 2026 is significantly more than it was in prior years.
He also underlined the urgent necessity for the Armed Forces to acquire a functional helicopter therefore the requirement for the approval of the estimates.
The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. James Agalga, assured the Ministry of the Committee’s unflinching support, stressing that the defence sector should be given the utmost priority and treated accordingly.
The House has since laid the report of the Committee for distribution and debate before adoption of the estimates.
