The poor state of the roads in the Ejisu Constituency has been brought to light by Hon. Kwabena Boateng, the Member of Parliament for Ejisu.
These highways, he said, are vital conduits that link the populace to workplaces, schools, hospitals, and marketplaces.
He claims that construction on the Kokobra-Achiase and Ejisu-Onwe roads started as early as a year ago. Gutter systems and bridges were erected, and people’s hopes were revived, but they are now waning once more.
When he gave a speech about the terrible status of the roads in the Ejisu constituency, the MP representing that area informed the House of this.
“Mr. Speaker, I do not rise to lay blame. I rise to call this House to conscience to remind ourselves that governance is a continuum and the same exists for the benefit of all, including the people of Onwe, Asieninpong, Kwaso, Kokobra, Ekyem, Akokoamong, Achiase, and Asamang, among others,” he stated.
Unfortunately, he said that since the rainy season began, things have gotten worse, emphasizing that these routes have turned into traps that put farmers, traders, schoolchildren, and pregnant women at risk. The local economy silently suffers as cars become trapped, transportation comes to a standstill, and goods deteriorate.
He urged Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, the Minister of Roads, to assist in repairing the roads in order to lessen the annoyance of drivers.
