The government is nearing approval of a comprehensive national policy and a dedicated fund for technical and vocational education and training in Ghana, according to Minister of Education Mr. Haruna Iddrisu.

When the policy intervention is implemented, the minister claims that it will provide quality control, sustainable funding, and improved industry-training institution collaborations.

On Saturday, November 1, 2025, the Education Minister, who also serves as the Tamale South constituency’s Member of Parliament (MP), shared this information on Facebook following a working visit to the Northern and Savannah Regions.

Earlier in the day, the Education Minister officially opened a 24-seat sanitary facility for female students and a 160-bed girls’ dormitory building built by the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) under the previous Akufo-Addo administration.

Later on, he also laid sod for the building of a cutting-edge TVET Centre of Excellence in Salaga.

Mr. Haruna Iddrisu reiterated in his remarks the John Dramani Mahama government’s commitment to completing all inherited projects in accordance with the basic principles of state policy.

At the heart of this vision is our commitment to equipping the youth with the technical skills, creativity, and innovation needed to power a 24-hour economy built on productivity and decent work,”
